List of Inclusive Comic, Toy, Gaming & Collectible Shops
Going into a "nerd" shop as a marginalized person isn’t always a fun experience. Often, we encounter the following problems:

Managers and staff treat us as if we have no knowledge of geek culture.

People with privilege solicit our attention and/or give us attention in ways that makes us feel uncomfortable.

Managers, staff, and community ignore our requests and do not invite us to participate.
-
We do not see overtly displayed selections of comic books, games or collectibles that feature people like us, or that are specifically marketed toward people like us, even though those prominently exist, making us feel less welcome.
-
Electronic communications from the store are not inclusive or feature areas that are not accessible to disabled people.

Included on this list are comic book, toy, collectible and gaming shops in which shoppers have specifically had or observed positive experiences, as well as comic book, toy, collectible and gaming shops owned by BIPOC, women, and queer industry professionals.
These stores reportedly:

Help everyone find and/or order products.

Do not make assumptions about the level of knowledge of a customer.

Provide a safe and friendly environment for marginalized shoppers.

Encourage EVERYONE to read, create, game, play, collect to their hearts' content, and MORE!

All submissions should include: store name, store address, phone number, website(s), e-mail address (optional), specific genre (i.e. comic book store, gaming store, toy store, etc.), and a brief paragraph about why the store should be added!
Should you wish to have a listing removed from this page, please let us know and provide a detailed explanation regarding it. The store's removal will be considered.
